Cycle Ride - Newborough
The first part of this ride forest follows tracks through Newborough Forest to reach the beach near Llanddwyn Island. It is well worth allowing an hour or more to visit this immensely attractive island on foot. The route then goes behind the sand dunes and is sandy in places and it will probably be necessary to dismount for two or three stretches. Again you may well have to dismount for a stretch when you go through Malltraeth marsh where part of the track may be under water and has to be bypassed. After crossing Malltraeth sands by a new cycleway you return through varied and attractive countryside via traffic-free lanes. Photos of the Ride

Points of Interest
Llanddwyn Island is rarely cut off at high tide. It is a nature reserve and one of Anglesey's gems. This magical place has coves with rocky outcrops and sandy beaches, an ancient ruined chapel, a historic lighthouse and even older beacon and pretty pilots' cottages. Snowdonia and the Lleyn hills provide a dramatic backdrop. Wild flowers abound in early summer. Not to be missed.
Malltraeth Marsh is appealing because of its wild remoteness.
Malltraeth Sands are crossed by a new off-road cycleway with expansive views.
