Rides with Colwyn Area Group
The Colwyn Bay group meets every Wednesday morning at 11 am under the Colwyn Bay Pier. Its aim is to encourage newcomers to the pastime, and in this respect has been highly successful since the section started over four years ago.

A
few of the Colwyn Bay section at the Pensarn lunch stop. If you see
us, just come across and say 'hello' |
Like the Windmill Theatre in London, it's never ceased to ring up the curtain. Despite the foulest conditions, and there's been some atrocious weather blowing off the sea, we have never missed a day and always have a decent turn out. Its not unusual to have between 20 and 30 riders. Age is irrelevant, and there is a good balance of the sexes.
The pace is just sufficient to keep the bikes upright, and Pantri Bach cafe, Pensarn, is the target for lunch, where Lisa and her cohorts provide a range of cordon bleu snacks, the speciality of the house being the 'Onslow'. Or for those without a classical education - a bacon butty. Relaxation is the theme, and after the usual prolonged lunch, some return westwards via a range of routes, or alternatively go on to Rhyl, St Asaph, or Prestatyn before returning in the Colwyn Bay direction
Some of our members also ride from Prestatyn
and Rhyl to join us for lunch at Pensarn.
If your would like to join this group just turn up at Colwyn pier on a Wednesday at 11.00 am or phone 01492 623293.
Sunday rides take place on a regular basis, often starting from the Black Cat roundabout, Llandudno Junction. For further information telephone Roy Clough on 01492 546381. From time to time there are other ad hoc events.
In an age where everyone seems to be at risk of being sued, we have to inform you that you join us entirely at your own risk. Neither CTC nor its representatives can be held responsible for incidents, accidents, or injuries, caused by other members of the group, or members of the public at large. As a consequence it is the expectation that those wishing to join us on a regular basis will become members of CTC, which offers, amongst many other benefits, free third party insurance.
