CTC Eryri Welcomes George For A Day

It just happened to be Doreen's birthday ride. She didn't mention which one! George Moore from the USA just happened to be on a cycle tour to Wales at the time. He was staying at Dolgellau and arranged to join the start of the ride from the Inigo Jones Slate works Cafe, near Groeslon .

It was an overcast November Sunday morning, but this didn't dim the chatter of the twenty or so who gathered at the start of the ride.

It was a special occasion - and not just because it was Doreen's birthday. She was also to receive a Certificate of Merit from Mike Cross, President of CTC Chester & North Wales in recognition of her her work for cycling in the area.

George wrote an account of his day for his friends back home. By way of a garnish we add a few photos below.
