£170m for depression in the UK
What about the cycling remedy?
Health secretary Alan Johnson has pledged an extra £170 million to boost services for people battling anxiety and depression.
The additional funding will go towards an expansion of mental health therapies to ensure that such treatments are available UK-wide ( Full story ).
But how many people do we know who have shaken off depression and negativity by simply buying a bike and using it as a part of their daily lifestyles? There are many out there..........
Instead of being enclosed in their homes or cars, they have discovered a form of motion which puts them in touch with other people and the natural world around them. And that is what we all need to remain well in mind and body.
